How to Eat, Āyurvedically?

Āyurveda suggests eat 2-3 meals per day, and spacing them between 4-5 hours apart.

This allows the digestive system to fully digest one meal, before ingesting another.

Snacking is contraindicated in Āyurveda, as it not only taxes the digestive system, but also affects the blood-sugar levels, causing imbalances that can lead to disease.

We don’t need to be rigid about these guidelines.

They’re simply indications for optimal practices; thus, knowing what supports good health, one can practice mindfulness around their habits and make adaptations when necessary, or aspire to the ideal through incremental changes over time.
