“I would recommend without hesitation. Catrina is clearly genuine and obviously answering part of her calling doing this work. Her knowledge put me at ease without intimidating with too much alien speech and explained any foreign terms used in a way I can remember them.
Catrina is really well spoken and has a natural humourous tone that helps me to be engaged and not put off by any stuffiness. More, Catrina’s spirited delivery allowed the material to really land for me and this is the important part; I could read, and have read, books on the subject and watched videos, Catrina however made it connect quickly and enabled me to make it my own through observation and repetition.”

"Prior to starting this technique I really hadn't experienced more than a glimpse of a meditative state. From the first group meditation using my silent mantra, I experienced a quiet and calm I don't remember experiencing before, I found it quite profound."

"Catrina is very easy to relate to which makes it easy to learn and question anything that isn't clear."

"Catrina has a vast knowledge of what she teaches, doesn't take herself seriously, is very supportive and exudes genuine compassion! I highly recommend studying with her."

Meet Your Lead Trainer

Catrina Armendáriz
Hi! I’m Catrina Armendáriz and I’m your lead trainer. I will be facilitating your teacher training through pre-recorded videos and live group calls.
I’ve been practicing yoga for over 30 years and teaching for 9 years. My inspiration in creating this YTT is to provide a comprehensive overview of yoga beyond āsana or postural practice, and to transmit the breadth and depth of what pilgrimage offered me in fostering a deeper connection to yoga as a wisdom tradition and practice, and moreover to impart tools that may support your return home to Self, spirit or source, and empower you as a teacher.
Together, we will rediscover and reintegrate some of what has been forgotten and to clarify the roots of many concepts and practices in yoga.
From this grounding, it is my goal to empower you to discover your own niche of practice and to inspire your own creative potential as a teacher.

Meet Your A&P Trainers
Your Anatomy & Physiology classes are primarily led by Leslie Kaminoff and Amy Matthews, international best-selling co-authors, body workers, and seasoned yoga teacher trainers with over 50 years of combined teaching experience and complementary approaches to yoga. All content provided by Leslie and Amy is pre-recorded.

Leslie Kaminoff
Leslie has over 40 years of experience with yoga study, and specializes in individualized and therapeutic yoga, as well as the anatomy of the breath. He began his studies with Sivananda and eventually studied with T.K.V Desikachar, the son of T. Krishnamacharya in Madras, India, the renown pioneer of modern yoga.
What I love most about Leslie is the proximity he maintains to traditional yoga, his ability to fluidly merge Western anatomy with subtle anatomy, his depth of experience with yoga as a therapeutic modality vs. simply exercise, as well as his special interest in educating on the role of the breath in health, well-being, and spiritual awareness.

Amy Matthews
Amy Matthews has been teaching movement for over 27 years, and is a Certified Laban Movement Analyst, a Body-Mind Centering® Teacher, an Infant Developmental Movement Educator, and a movement therapist. Her yoga studies share some overlap with Leslie’s, and her teaching style complements his beautifully.
They offer different ways of looking at postures, anatomy and movement as well as different ways of cueing somatic awareness practices that foster an intuitive way of being the body and honor one’s unique embodiment and movement.
